I looked at the Readme, but it was to confusing. It's my first time using Linux and my friend is no help to me. I have no clue how to exit the X server and have been searching for a long time. I tried ctrl + alt + F1 - F6 but still no luck. I am using Ubuntu 6.10. Linux Display Drivers Version 1.0-9629.

Thank you guys.
You should try reading that file (mentioned in the error message).
It is unfortunate that the message does not tell you the full path of the file.
It is: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L...DME/index.html
Or on your own system: /usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/README.txt

To exit from X, you type: init 3
