I wasn't but now I am. BIOS is 1013. No improvement.

Once I get the new kernel up and running, I'll do another run of it with the latest beta drivers, too, albeit my hopes are not too high so far.

By using a desktop picture with some smooth gradient, which shows incorrectly.
And yes, running nvidia-settings suddenly forces the KDE desktop back to 24bits.

BTW, 3D acceleration works okay, so the driver and card are functioning properly.


Also, tested under Ubuntu too and can reproduce the problem, so it is definitively not a KDE issue.

To help with debugging, is there anything I can turn on to get a trace or log when logging out, similar to what startx gives?
