RH8 + nforce1 = help!
I am trying to get the built in network card to work on my Abit NV7-133R which is an nforce1 board. The sound and whatnot seems to be doing fine with the drivers. I have the stock kernel and have not upgraded.
2.4.18-14
I tried installing the nvidia driver
NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0248.rh80up_2.4.18_14.athlon.rpm
Now my kernel is the i686 build I think and not the athlon build, but should that matter?
in any event, the rpm does not work, so I used the SRPM, but that behaved exactly the same. Hmm, but I did build the kernel with the athlon config again, but I never installed the kernel since its supposed to be the same thats in there (686 and athlon are actually same right!?)
The error upon install is this
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/net/nvnet.o
depmod -e produces this
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/net/nvnet.o
depmod: __netdev_watchdog_up_R065272f1
depmod: alloc_skb_R37701013
depmod: __kfree_skb_R9f577077

depmod: netif_rx_R61b6a4ab
depmod: eth_type_trans_R8099d0b4
depmod: softnet_data_R21a8786f
I have no idea where to go from here?
I have searched redhat and google and this site. Nothing. Actually next I will try to run the actual kernel I built, but the stock driver should have worked with the stock kernel...
