i work with windows, non only with ubuntu, and win works well with nvidia driver...

Sometimes, not. But it's the safest bet that it won't try anything higher than set in the BIOS. Sure it might work in Windows, but it doesn't necessarily tell you the speed it's really running. Like I wrote in my other reply AGP can be haunted with incompatibilities.
