Thanks for the advice - un plugged a few fans (couldn't run the system without CD and DVD drives for some reason). Quake ran for a couple of minutes before shut down, about a minute and a half better than usual. Hope it is the psu - just ordered a 600W replacement. Should get it tomorrow, will post the results. Fingers crossed!
