Would I see a large benefit w/ OC'ing?
I've been using Fraps to get an idea of what kind of FPS my system is capable of pushing. I tried X3 reunion and the game ran in the 32-50fps, but at times was hitting 10-15fps in certain populous sectors. GTR2 was the same, solo practice runs would hit 160+fps but once I had 15 cars on the track it dipped into the 30's at times.
Now I know this is due to my CPU not being fast enough to calculate physics and feed my 8800GTS. So I wonder, would a 200-400mhz OC on my stock x2 3800 smooth out performance? I don't need to see a 50fps jump, just enough to smooth out the kinks in X3 reunion and keep my CPU safe.
