Default Re: Uninstallation of Nvidia drivers / software

Hi,
I have a problem uninstalling with the "NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-9746-pkg2.run" script. After using option "--uninstall" I get a message saying something like "a clean uninstall was not possible..".
After rebooting I get around 10000 or more messages saying "nvidia: Unknown symbol". Dmesg is flooded with it so I cannot say at which point it starts:
...

When I do
Core2Duo:~ # modprobe nvidia
FATAL: Error inserting nvidia (/lib/modules/2.6.18.2-34-default/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

Dmesg is afterwards again flooded with messages saying the above "unknown symbol". What do I have to do to fix this?
Thanks & Regards, Leo
