I just use 3.46 GHz, set all the settings on auto and forget about everything else and simply game. I run the 8800 GTX cards on a mod EVGA ACS3 KO BIOS at 626/1000 for the default clocks. So, at idle, about 32C and loads to just under 60. I keep the fan in quiet mode, so it could be cooler at load, but I like quiet better than cool for gaming
