By now it is wellknown that many screens, especially TV sets with PC-input, provide incorrect EDID data. This is caused by the limitations of the EDID system as well.
Unfortunately NVIDIA obeys the EDID data as if it were the only truth, and discards your directions to use the correct resolution (1920x1080).

Thanks for response, but in a forest of infos and spec. for an newcommer on ubuntu dist. ist's not easy find the info's are helpfull (when actual for the specf. dist. and not for an older one etc... )
Can you give some search "keys" to find the workaround (if exit !) and for the actual README nvida ?
