Well, I just spoke to a friend who offered to semi-permanently lend me his old Geforce4 Ti 4xxx card so that will replace my MX for the time being. I suspect that it will be far more likely to support the necessary bandwidth/clock speed than my cheap MX card. I will post with my results.
