Strange... it really ought to install to `pkg-config --variable=moduledir xorg-server`, but looking at the configure script, it looks like it defaults to "$libdir/xorg/modules" unless you use the --with-xorg-module-dir option. That looks like a bug in the autoconf macros.

After configuring xorg.conf using sax2 I can switch to runlevel 5, X Server starts, everything works fine for me except switching to bash via CTRL + alt + F*. If I try, I only get a blank screen (monitor doesnt receive signals). But I can switch back to X (alt + F7).
Do you get any error messages in the log file when it fails to restore the console? Also, do you know if your server was built with this commit?
