Having seen both I'd say the Sharp is worth the extra $ if you're going to be watching any Standard Def signals as the Westie doesn't handle those very well. The Sharp also has better black levels than the Westie.

Wrong. The Westinghouse has a Fadjoura processor built into the TV which is has been tried and true in the home A/V world. In all honesty the Westy probably has better image quality on standard def signals than the Sharp.
