How did you determine that 1680x1050 was a valid native mode? Please start X with the following command:
startx -- -logverbose 6
and then generate a new bug report.
Well...I think we should go a bit slow here..I am a newbie to linux...anyway..I did not determine anything with respect to the resolution...Whatever resolutions in the xorg.conf were there by default or were installed like that when installed. Anyway my laptops screen resolution is actually 1680x1050...so maybe the drivers determined it by itself...If u understand what i mean...
