I must have missed Doom3 being launched, cos I was sure that the actual GAME doesn't exist yet..
We've seen a snapshot of code from a basically finished engine, for which nVidia had semi-optimised drivers whilst ATI couldn't even use the latest Cat 3.4's due to a conflict.
The nV3x is running on a path tailored to its strengths.
The R3x0 runs on a generic path and happens to perform acceptably (good engineering imo

)
I'd hardly say anything is clear at this point.
