In other words, if the instability was eliminated for you in 1.0-9746 and has returned in 100.14.11, then you're very likely experiencing a completely unrelated bug.
Well, I don't know much about the technical aspects of it, but I can confirm that reinstalling 1.0.9746 fixed my problem. With versions older or newer I get regular freeze-ups and google-earth crashes within 5 seconds of opening, and with these drivers all is fine (so far!).
As you say, probably a different issue, but these seem to be the only drivers that work for me.
