As you say, probably a different issue, but these seem to be the only drivers that work for me.
+1

Actualy I test the 9746 with a nvs quadro 285 (nv44) on RHEL4 with success, the test works with 12 glxgears since yesterday :
Code:
for i in `ls /usr/bin`;
do
xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0 -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0 -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date;sleep 5' & xterm -display :0.0  -e 'date|less' &
killall -9 xterm;
sleep 1;
done
With the other drivers, few hours be enough.
