It seems that I can overclock my GeForce Go 6150 in Windows Vista, but not XP. I would be ok with playing my games in Vista but I only get roughly half of the performance of my card in Vista vs. XP and if I try to overclock to ~575+ with no artifacts present at all I get the dreaded "nvlddmkm has stopped responding and has succesfully recovered" error once and then the card runs at lik 1/5 of the speed until I restart.
XP, on the other hand, is compatible with all of my games and doesn't suffer from display driver problems like Vista. But, the programs I use in Vista (nTune, ATITool) work fine but can't overclock my card in XP. I don't know if NV44 based cards are still locked from overclocking in XP drivers or it is something else that won't let the programs set clocks, no matter what FW version I use from LaptopVideo2Go. CPU oc's fine in both operating systems though.
HP dv6233se laptop
GF Go 6150 rev. F2 / MCP430 rev. A3 IGP (NV44 based, but only has 1vp, 2pp, 2tmu, 2rop) same as desktop version but with powermizer
Turion 64 X2 TL-50
P.S: I don't want to nvflash it because I don't know stable clock speeds for this IGP and I don't know if it uses a regular VGA BIOS like regular cards. Also, nvflash will make vista useless bacause of nvlddmkm.
Any help would be appreciated.
