Monolyth, you need to watch the individual core temps instead of the temp tracked by "CPU". Everest can monitor each core; use the taskbar or OSD to display the core temps.

You can see the OSD in this pic with the temps for my four cores.


The Thermoflow fans have a thermistor on it to read air temp. They have a lead for mobo monitoring and a four pin connector for power. You may want to use it for the case and move a fan that can be controlled by the mobo to the CPU.
