Default FreeBSD 7.0,GeForce 8400GS and ATI RS480 chipset

Hello everyone,

some time ago I acquired a DFI RDX200 motherboard. This mb features the RS480 chipset. Because I planned to run a FreeBSD-7.0 i386 kernel (no 64-bit drivers yet) I installled a Geforce 8400GS vga card.

The version of the FreeBSD kernel I'm using is 7.0-CURRENT and it was built from sources as of the 12th of August. I downloaded the 100.14.11 driver from your website, commented out the #error line in the src/nv-freebsd.h file and compiled the driver succesfully (at this part I ran make install too, and apart from some necessary tweaks everything went fine).

However when I loaded the nvidia kernel module, the 8400GS adapter was not found and no special files were created saunder /dev were created. The following logs were generated by the kernel:

Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: pci0: driver added
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: found-> vendor=0x1002, dev=0x4372, revid=0x81
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: bus=0, slot=20, func=0
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: class=0c-05-00, hdrtype=0x00, mfdev=1
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: cmdreg=0x0403, statreg=0x0230, cachelnsz=0 (dwor
ds)
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: lattimer=0x00 (0 ns), mingnt=0x00 (0 ns), maxlat
=0x00 (0 ns)
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: pci0:20:0: reprobing on driver added
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: pci1: driver added
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: pci2: driver added
Aug 13 00:10:34 bifteki kernel: pci3: driver added

Also the pciconf -lv output for the 8600GS and the RS480 chipset is the following:

hostb0@pci0:0:0: class=0x060000 card=0x59501002 chip=0x59501002 rev=0x01 hdr=0x00
vendor = 'ATI Technologies Inc.'
device = 'RS480 Host Bridge'
class = bridge
subclass = HOST-PCI
pcib1@pci0:2:0: class=0x060400 card=0x59501002 chip=0x5a341002 rev=0x00 hdr=0x01
vendor = 'ATI Technologies Inc.'
device = 'RS480 PCI-X Root Port'
class = bridge
subclass = PCI-PCI
pcib2@pci0:6:0: class=0x060400 card=0x59501002 chip=0x5a381002 rev=0x00 hdr=0x01
vendor = 'ATI Technologies Inc.'
device = 'RS480 PCI Bridge'
class = bridge
subclass = PCI-PCI
vgapci0@pci1:0:0: class=0x030000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x042210de rev=0xa1 hdr=0x00
vendor = 'Nvidia Corp'
class = display
subclass = VGA

Is this problem associated with a driver bug regarding the RS480 chipset and some series 6 Geforce card? Anyway, If you need me to provide more information just send me a message or ask here.

Thanks in advance
