I think the big misunderstanding is the generic use of the term HDTV. As SK said, anything above 480 is HD. IMO, we would have been better off with a numerical system than the acronym **** we have now. Everyday Joes (and nVJoes ) understand what numbers are and to them they think bigger number = better. Call a spade a spade and not a SPD.
