OK, so now I presume by "kernel source" you mean the RPM "kernel-source*.rpm" on RedHat CD2 in the same directory as "glibc-kernheaders.rpm". When I tried to install kernel-source it came up with:

error: failed dependencies
gcc <= 2.96 needed by kernel-source*.rpm

(or words to that effect).

How can i fix this? (sorry if I'm being a pain)
