Battledust is.. well battledust
- adds some volumentric dust to an area where fighting is going on which makes the game look less sterile during battle and adds to the battle-ish atmosphere
I think that pony demonstrated it with some screens some time back.
About the zdistance I have an idea of what it does, but likewise I think pony is the expert here so I'll let him explain
BTW I'm also adding command "r_WaterGodRays 1" - I don't think it's on as default on high settings...
