Not too early I must say. But just the right time to kick the lagging gpu technology into gear. Hopefully newer cards will be able to handle this monster.

While I may personally not like the game much, the technology is great. It hurts my pride a bit to see my system being forced onto all 4 and violated in such a way by just one game, but hey, it's for the better. We're all taking it for the team, whether we like it or not.

And besides, patches and drivers will help out. The engine is still too new and is not fully optimized yet, IMO, but time will fix it.

Can you imagine when the hardware comes out and future games uses this technology? Hmmmm.
