I know it's probably not a great deal of use to be posting this now, but if I was to buy a new optical drive of any sort, I'd be buying myself a USB drive. This whole concept of having to bend down to get to your PC every time you want to put a disc in it, it just seems so old-hat. It was necessary five years ago, s'not anymore. Have a drive on your desk instead. Under your monitor, perhaps. Save yourself some bother.
