The real reason that Blu-ray prices go up not because of HD-DVD death, it actually because of very weaking US dollar due to US economy slowed down Bush just announced now.
At today exchange rate, the US dollar is now worth $1.00000, the $1 bill could be worthless anytime soon when it fall again. If it fall in 2 weeks then I can get $5 for just £1 or $1 for a merry 20 pence!
