2D accel sucks big on nvidia.
I changed from a laptop with a concurrent board (read ati) with 1/2 of the clock frequency and 1/4 of the memory and I find the present desktop experience incredibly sluggish compared to that.
And I don't have any eye-candy active, no compiz/beryl, no transparency. Moving/resizing/scrolling windows is painfull, the CPU and fans just fire up high.
I'm slowly moving away from nvidia. It sucks paying for this.
