Na they weren't stolen.
This was an older fellow (62). In fact after i bought them we realized that he knew my wifes whole family..lol
He even gave me the Bill of Sale and the original manuals for the speakers.
Close to $1000 is what he paid for these new.
From the reviews I've read on the net these speakers are still considered to be among the best speakers ever made.
Just an awesome deal.
