You are correct, it is the northbridge.

15 Minutes after I turn it on it's very hot without playing any games. There is no fan on it or in the case, I am getting two fans Sunday, one to push & one to pull air out of the case. I do have the side of the case open to let more air circulation.

I have a stock CPU cooler with my E6300.
