Ok, guys. I found the solution. Now, it works.

It seems this file kernel.h was sitting in severel different places. I also found it (well hidden) in:
/usr/src/linux-2.4.20-20.9/include/linux

So, when I adapted the option --kernel-include-path, it went just fine.

Thank you all for your kind support. I would never have been able to fix this without it.

BTW the Belgian beer brands are world famous.
