Look at the layout, it's identical to the reference one.
It's just a different colored PCB perhaps manufactured somewhere else but still using the same PCB layout and by the looks of it also identical components.

I've had 5 boards here, all except one looked, to me, 100 % identical except color.

If the reference design had some flaw not related to one specific component (say bad brand of voltage regulator) then perhaps the bug in the reference design just gets passed down the the ones based on it.
