I'm hoping to get 3.0 stable once my stuff comes in. Anything above that is just bonus.
I have solution for ya. I have q6700 running at 3333Mhz and maybe this will give you idea.

On i780SLI Chipset the following settings i have.

default multiplayer is left to 10X
Changed FSB to 333Mhz@1333
Raised CPU voltage to 1.38 due voltage drop runs at 1.34
C1 disabled, Thermal options disabled.
Voltage for memory, chipset etc left to AUTO
Now here is trick FSB-Memory Ratio. I set to Linked, and then next option to Sync, so my DDR2-800 is running at 666Mhz. Set timing to AUTO, and mobo should set it to better timing.
Mine changed from default 5-5-5-10 2T to 4-4-4-12 1T. I get better score in Vista then running at 800Mhz with 5-5-5-10-2T. I run 2x2 GB Gskill + 2x1 GSkill memory, so total is 6Gb.

Max CPU temperature i have seen was 58C.

Everything is super stable.
