I am new to Linux but finally I have a working config for my Sony GRT Notebook with Geforce FX Go 5600. I use the driver version 1.0-4496. Sax2 did not solve my problem so I had to edit its XF86Config as follows:
1. In Section "Device" you have to make sure that Driver is set to "nvidia"
2. In Section "Device" add Option "NvAGP" "1"
3. In Section "Screen" -> SubSection "Display" -> Modes you have to replace the "default" by your screen resolution, mine is "1024x768". Otherwise X cannot initialize the screen.
Please let me know if this helps. Thanks!

If I'm doing this from X (using SaX2) and after tring to test new settings, I get black screen and 100 % of CPU usage (2.8 GHz) and even cannot kill X or reboot... :-(((( Someone have any idea about ?
