I have the same problem.

***Note this is nothing to do with sax2 or the xorg.cong***

It is something to do with a remnant left behind after uninstalling the 177.82 driver from the opensuse repository.

The remnant seems very hard to find (it isn't /lib/modules/2.6.27.7-9-default/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.ko)
