It's entirely normal. You could patch kdeinit so that it doesn't print out those last 2 lines, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

It's not actually a lockup, it's just that after bash got control back, a background process (kdeinit) printed something else to the screen before it died. Ctrl-C gave you a prompt back because that's what it does normally -- hit it sometime when another program isn't running and see. Just hitting enter should do the same thing after you log out of X.

You could just startx from after the kdeinit:exit line, too, and it should work.
