I've been having these same thoughts in my head lately and I did some research dx11 cards are not going to hit the market untill the end of this year Nov or Dec at the earliest says most tech sites so if you buy a gtx295 now you'll have one of the fastest cards for a long time, according to nvidia's roadmap they are only releasing 1 card in Q2 this year and no cards in Q3. Maybe a dx10 refresh in Q4 skip that. Then you can get a dx11 card for christmas
edit; one more thing if you buy a EVGA card now, you can upgrade to a better card within 3 months and only pay the difference in price! Its a great deal! So if nvidia does release that 1 gpu beast we been hearing about you can upgrade.
