Default Re: NVIDIA PROBLEM

Append following to your xorg.conf:

Code:
Section "DRI"
     Group "video"
     Mode 0666
EndSection
Log out and back in, and your problem should be solved.
To check back you may use:

ls -alh /dev/nvidia*

Note: With the solution above, every user of your system will have access to the direct rendering infrastructure (DRI) of your device. If you don't mind, son't bother. If you mind, change 0660 and add yourself to the 'video' group:

Code:
adduser `whoami` video
Then log out and back in. The output of the command to check should look like this:

docter[~] ls -alh /dev/nvidia*
crw-rw---- 1 root video 195, 0 Apr 2 00:36 /dev/nvidia0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 195, 255 Apr 2 00:36 /dev/nvidiactl
docter[~]
