I can control the brightness with the slider of the KDE PowerManager applet and by writing a value (between 0 and 100) into /proc/acpi/video/DGFX/LCD/brightness. Neither of the two later methods worked prior using 180.60.

Well i don't agree with you since i just have to replace my nvidia drivers for the nv or the nouveau drivers and the hotkeys works just like they should.
In my computer brightness doesn't work even with the KDE PowerManager, but i can try with this /proc/acpi/video... thanks for the info!.
