I conducted two tests:
  • on a 5-year old PC ( Athlon-2800 with 2GB RAM ) with a BFG nVidia GeForce 8400GS (512MB) PCI card.
  • on a new Intel Core i7 (with 6GB RAM) with a Asus GeForce GTX260 896MB PCI-e card.
Both PCs are running openSUSE-11.1 Linux and the nVidia 180.51 proprietary graphic driver, although the 5-year old PC is running a 32-bit openSUSE-11.1 and the new PC is running a 64-bit openSUSE-11.1

Test#1
