Slow Internet Connection on Laptop
My desktop computer is connected by cable directly to the Internet. My laptop connects wirelessly to the same router that feeds the desktop. After running speed tests on both computers, I noticed that I get speeds about twice as fast with the desktop as on the laptop. Is it normal to lose all this speed simply by virtue of going wireless? Or could there be some software on the laptop that is slowing it down? I keep it pretty clean in terms of malware, so I don't think it's a spyware issue.
Also, I connect my laptop to an ethernet cable at work, and my connection there is extremely slow. (Around 0.3 MB/s, as I recall). The IT guy plugged in his laptop with the same cable and got speeds twice as fast as mine. So I must have something going on with my laptop that is slowing my connection speed. Any suggestions appreciated!
