Well, you changed the requested mode from 1280x768 to 1280x1024, so this doesn't really apply to the former, but 1280x1024 is getting rejected because it's bigger than the default "native" resolution of 640x480. Please add Option "ExactModeTimingsDVI" and try again. You may also need to set Option "ModeValidation" "NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck" to override the size check.
