Ho Hum,

Bought and installed a PNY Geforce 8400GS 512MB PCI and a 400W Corsair PSU.

Result : unbootable PC. Couldn't even get into the BIOS. And the power switch wouldn't turn off the PC - it just powercycled/rebooted. Had to turn off using the main PSU switch at the rear. This 8400GS card seriously disrupted the system.

I tried installing the 8400GS card in the nearest and farthest PCI slots, and with all other PCI cards removed. Same result.

Removed the 8400Gs, re-installed the 6200 PCI and with no changes to the BIOS, the system was back to normal.

The computer is a Dell Precision 340 with 512MB ram and 1.5GHz P4. There is an unused AGP x4 slot.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get the 8400GS working? Looks like I may be returning it.
