I realize now that I forgot to mention that I'm gaming at 1680x1050, usually with 4xAA and 16xAF.
I agree that there is a lot of advantages with X58 platform that could come in very usefull in the future, but this review: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ng,2061-8.html made me think that I could gain some frames by going to X58 platform right now.
Just look at the difference between Corei7 and Core2Quad clocked at 3.2 ghz with gtx 285 SLI. It is 34 vs. 22 at 1920x1200 with 8xAA ( if this review is to be believed)
