Nice benchmark tool, good it's sticky. Hope the HD 5970 (Hemlock) is out soon, for my upgrade.
It also would be nice if Fermi is out at the same time, to compare.
I installed DX11 on Vista, waiting for the SSD to install Windows 7 next week.
The next 2 benchmark are DX10 Crossfire OFF and Crossfire ON, it shows
GREAT 95% scaling. Wish every game was like that.
DX10, 1920x1080, default filtering,
NO Crossfire,
DX10, 1920x1080, default filtering,
Crossfire ON
The next two benchmarks are set at
maximum AA and AF. I did run the second one as DX11 just to compare the FPS. The benchmarks are exactly the same, mainly because the DX11 allowed me to select the tessellation, but without the hardware the tessellation doesn't display.
It would be nice if somebody with the HD 5*** cards runs tessellation ON and OFF benchmark to compare. I wonder if there is not going to be some performance hit with so much more details showing.
I also did run the Fraps at the same time to see the minimum and maximum FPS. The demo only calculates the average during the run. The FPS are slowest when crossing the grass.
The latest Fraps (Version 2.9.99) doesn't work with DX11.
DX10, 1920x1080, Maximum filtering, Crossfire ON
DX11, 1920x1080, Maximum filtering, Crossfire ON
The hardware setting is in the signature.
