Thanks for the test tool. I am using it a Zotac ION-ITX which should work as it did for someone else on this thread. Here is my partially working result which had a fatal termination:
Code:
$ uname -r .. 2.6.31-14-generic with Linux Mint 8

Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU  230   @ 1.60GHz
NVIDIA GPU ION (C79) at PCI:3:0:0 (GPU-0)

VDPAU API version : 0
VDPAU implementation : NVIDIA VDPAU Driver Shared Library 185.18.36 Fri Aug 14 17:50:51 PDT 2009

SURFACE GET BITS: 253.141 M/s
SURFACE PUT BITS: 205.555 M/s

MPEG DECODING (1920x1080): 57 frames/s
MPEG DECODING (1280x720): 135 frames/s
H264 DECODING (1920x1080): 50 frames/s
H264 DECODING (1280x720): 107 frames/s
VC1 DECODING (1440x1080): 67 frames/s

FATAL: Can't create mixer output surface !!
Mplayer fails in vdpau mode such that an mpg2 from ATSC or a file takes all the cpu. What can I do to fix vdpau mode?
