Default Re: G210m Blank Laptop Display

I am having a similar problem with my Sony Vaio CW VPCCW19FX , but with a little different twist.

I first installed Ubuntu 9.10, along with the fix of an EDID entry in xorg.conf, and it worked okay. But then I decided to re-install a Gentoo system.
To my surprise, this time EDID file doesn't work for me : When I tried to start X, after Nvidia logo was shown for an instant, the screen turned into blank forever.

Here is my configuration:

Sony Vaio CW VPCCW19FX with Nvidia G210M
Gentoo 10.1 (Kernel 2.6.31-gentoo-r6)
Nvidia driver : 190.53
EDID from Win7

xorg.conf
Code:
Section "ServerLayout"
    Identifier "Default Layout"
    Screen "Default Screen" 0 0
    InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
    InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
EndSection

EndSection

Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Configured Monitor"
EndSection

   Option "CustomEDID" "DFP-0:/etc/X11/edid_v140.bin"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Default Screen"

    Monitor "Configured Monitor"

        Depth 24
        Modes "nvidia-auto-select"
    EndSubSection
EndSection
If anyone has some idea about what the problem might be, please let me know.
Thanks,
