This is clearly design decision and I would quess that they simply didn't want to sort all those polygons and thats it.

So my vote is that they will never patch that 'issue' on any machine.

On x360 the problem with it is smaller resolution and scaling to 720p, this means that dithering is scaled as well and that looks bad.
