Not accurate at all.

Gtx 470's easily beat 5850's for one thing and for two in sli 470's routinely come in neck and neck with 5870cf or slightly above or below and easily beat a 5970 and 5850 cf. Check your benchmarks again.

The truth is the 400 series run hot and consume boatloads of power but actually perform really really well and represent a decent bang for the buck. That's the truth no bs. Now if you wanna be a fanboy of team red sure go ahead and spew nonsense about how loud the fans are and how they are underperformers and are late blah blah ad nausem. Numbers don't lie. Your call.
