Red face Nvidia legacy 71.86.13 and video playback to XVideo

Before saying the word "problem" let me firstly thank nvidia developers for their respect to open-source community and for all the work they do with for us.
Now, that's what i need help for:
After i installed debian lenny and the latest legacy nvidia drivers (at first installed from the debian packages and then replaced by the official *.run), my video playback is slow, takes 100% CPU time and, if the video file is some bigger than eg 720x576, there arrive strange dots or bars in the video output. I've tried xine and mplayer, mplayer has a bit better peformance but it still doesn't reach the level on my previous install (it was debian etch with 71.86.01 nvidia driver) while the bars are still there.
I've made a photo of my computer's screen to demonstrate that (software screenshot didn't catch XVideo output).

I am using a relatively old machine (PII 350 MHz) with NVIDIA Riva TNT2 graphics card, but it still was able to playback such videos easily on the older system...
I attach several files, the names are self-explanatory.
Thanks for your attention,
