Default External monitor on VGA port

Thanks a million egghead3 for finding this hack-around!

Hey achim123 or anyone else got an external monitor working on the VGA port?

nVidia Control Settings does not detect it when clicking on "detect displays". I would like to use "TwinView" so to avoid reboots, but the option is disabled.

I have a Sony VPCCW23FD with and my xorg.conf is :

Code:
Section "Device"
        Identifier "Device0"
        Driver "nvidia"
        VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
        Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP-0"
        Option "CustomEDID" "DFP-0:/etc/X11/sonynvidia.edid"
        Screen 0
EndSection

Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Screen0"
        Device "Device0"
        Option "TwinView" "0"
        Option "metamodes" "DFP-0: nvidia-auto-select +0+0"
EndSection
Results with or without the Screen section is the same.
