Default GeForce GT 240 and Viewsonic

I just bought a GeForce GT 240. My computer has double-boot: Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04. After some research ( I was able to install the card and drivers correctly in Linux and Windows 7. Everything worked fine in both OSs on my old DELL CRT monitor that I was using temporarily until I got a new one on the mail.

The old CRT monitor doesn't even have any drivers. But now I installed a new monitor Viewsonic VA2223wm, so I had to manually install the windows 7 Viewsonic drivers in order to be recognized by the nvidia card. The problem is that graphics drivers on the Linux OS part does not recognize the monitor, the nvidia drivers detect there is a monitor, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with the nvidia driver. I tried changing the xconfig file to match the HorizSync and VertRefresh rates of this monitor that I found at Viewsonic's specs:

But that didn't work.

Does this mean that since there are no Viewsonic's Linux drivers I cannot use this monitor on Ubuntu? I've had other Viewsonic models running on Linux Red Hat with no problem, but perhaps this newer model doesn't work?

Thanks very much for any help you can provide me.
